Hello, lovelies!
For those of you who don't already know, Ipsy is a monthly subscription service that sends you 4-5 beauty/makeup items which range from deluxe-size samples to full-size products, along with a cute new makeup bag each time. The best part is that it's only $10/month including shipping, so it's fun AND affordable! I can't even put into words how excited I get when I open my mailbox to find that shiny pink package waiting for me. It's my favorite day of the month, for sure. If you're new to the subscription box scene and want to try something out, Ipsy is the perfect place to start!
How cute is this bag, you guys?
This month's theme is "Dreamers"
"Dream on! Create looks that celebrate every side of your unique beauty‒from natural and understated to high fashion and ultra-glam."
Now, on with the show!
Nail Polish in "Pouty"- ($7.99) - FULL SIZE!
I love this shade of pink and it looks so nice on my nails. It also stays lookin' good for a pretty long time. I painted my nails without a top coat just to see how well it holds up on it's own, and it took about 4 days for it to start chipping. Even then, it was only happening to the top edge of my nails and wasn't too noticeable. I'd also like to throw in that I'm constantly washing dishes, so my nails never look good for that long. I will definitely be browsing their shop some more, because I'd like to try other colors now. I'm hooked!
Moroccanoil Treatment - ($4.40) - DELUXE SAMPLE!
*A 100 ml bottle is $44.00 on their website. A 25 ml bottle is $15.00*
This stuff smells wonderful and has totally helped tame my dry, frizzy mane. I'm really more into the makeup and nail stuff that Ipsy sends, so when I see a hair or skincare product in my bag I get just a little bit less excited, but I actually really like this oil. My hair has been doing some crazy things since the weather started warming up, so I'm gonna keep using this until it's gone and then, who knows, maybe I'll buy a bottle!
Dreamcatcher Tapered Highlighter Brush 522 - ($32.00) - FULL SIZE!
*I couldn't find this brush on their site, so I'm not sure how much it's actually worth. I've seen other bloggers link to the Luxie Onyx Noir Tapered Highlighter Face Brush 522 in it's place though, which seems really similar. I've chosen to just post the price of that one instead.*
This is my favorite brush right now! It's a pretty lavender color and super, super soft. I've been using it for blush and highlighter and it works beautifully! This company also happens to be 100% vegan and cruelty free, so they're cool with me!
Buxom Cosmetics
Wildly Whipped Lightweight Liquid Lipstick in Centerfold - ($7.88) - DELUXE SAMPLE!
*You can purchase the full size (0.16 oz) version at Sephora for $21.00*
I really thought this was going to end up being the very first product I've received that I just absolutely hate, because before you put it on it looks straight up like it should be a concealer or something and not a liquid lipstick. I had never actually tried any nude colored lip products before though, and I was completely surprised by HOW FREAKIN' GOOD IT LOOKS! It feels velvety smooth too and I'm so dang impressed. Good job, Ipsy. Sometimes I think you know me better than I know myself.
Highlight Trio - ($8.99) - FULL SIZE!
I saved the best for last! Okay. So, I'm a highlighter newbie. I had never really tried highlighting or contouring or any of that business before, and now all I wanna know is how I've made it this far in life, as a makeup wearing human being, without learning how magical highlighting is? I've used this every day since the day I got it and I am completely obsessed right now. I feel like this was the perfect little starter palette for me.
That's all of it! I ended up with $61.26 worth of products, along with an awesome makeup bag, for $10! How insane is that?
Overall, I am so satisfied with this month's bag and I received so many amazing things. I'm already excited to see what'll be in my next one!
